The world needs well-formed Catholics now more than ever! By providing an intimate encounter with Jesus Christ, young Catholics, motivated and empowered to live their faith, GO into the world to change it for the better.
You can be a part of this change. Consider a donation to be the difference you want to see in the world.
Twin Cities TEC is no longer accepting donations.
Fr. Stan says it like TEC is.
I have been involved with TEC for nearly twenty years, acting as Conference Room Spiritual Director for over 20 retreats, and as a board member for about ten years. The retreat follows the pattern of the Paschal Mystery, and engages young people in a way that helps them tie the stuff of their lives to the Paschal Mystery. They encounter Christ, connect with Jesus, and they go through significant changes in the course of the weekend. They are introduced to Eucharistic Adoration, and often make their most profound confession to date. They are formed, not forced; respected but challenged; loved and never threatened. They learn about the Eucharist, the Mass, the Church, and several styles of prayer. There is plenty of fun and food, but the most often cited highlight of the weekend is Reconciliation and Eucharistic Adoration. They rediscover many treasures of the Church. Those that return to help on additional retreats have the faith further reinforced in them, and often use their newly acquired leadership skills in the parish. Participation in the retreats has helped me to reflect more powerfully on Catholicism’s core beliefs as well. Some of the people who have remained with the program have become valued friends. The retreat format is entering its 50th year, and TEC has spread across the nation and beyond our borders. How many other things have changed so little an impacted so many during those decades?
